Which is more direful, abandonment or humiliation?

Abandonment is painful if it is by someone you were with for a long time or a parent. It is a form of rejection. Humiliation can be antagonizing and brings in strife.It could be considered a form of rejection as well. I would say that people who humiliate others are the bigger victims in the long run. Humiliation can be overcome by humility which is obedience to God,forgiving so living in greatness and freedom. Life is made up of more than humiliating experiences. People who hope to humiliate others are already feeling low self esteem so they try to make others look bad so they feel that they are elevating themselves to a higher level. In reality they are not living in humility which would have caused them to be lifted up. When people try to lift themselves up in their own strength and ability separate from God they will fall. This is why they say pride comes before a fall.
